Project Overview
For this project, I created a series of playful illustrations and integrated them into real-world cityscapes and event photos. By combining hand-drawn characters with photographic backgrounds, I aimed to create eye-catching visuals that feel lively and immersive.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a series of illustrations that represent Atlanta in a visually engaging and locally resonant way.
For submission to an Atlanta-based print shop, the artwork needed to highlight recognizable city landmarks while maintaining a strong, cohesive character identity. The key objective was to seamlessly integrate my original illustrated character into real photographs of Atlanta’s major locations, ensuring that the character felt naturally embedded within each environment rather than visually detached.

Design Process
I began by researching iconic Atlanta landmarks and selecting locations that felt dynamic and culturally significant. After choosing high-quality photographic backdrops, I analyzed lighting direction, perspective, and scale to determine how the character should interact within each scene. Next, I illustrated the character with adjusted proportions and poses to match the environment’s depth and composition. I carefully refined shadows, color tones, and atmospheric effects to create harmony between the illustrated figure and the photographic setting.

Print Shop, Atlanta
My illustration was selected and printed for sale at a local print shop in Atlanta. Seeing my work transition from a digital concept to a physical product was a meaningful milestone in my creative journey. This experience allowed me to think beyond aesthetics and consider scale, print quality, and how the artwork would live within a real space.
It reinforced my interest in creating work that is not only visually engaging, but also commercially viable and emotionally resonant.
